What is collected, and what is not.
Short version: the only personal information here is what a host types into the submission form, and it is used to publish and follow up on that listing.

What is collected
Activities. When someone submits an activity, J217 stores exactly the fields on that form: the church or organization name, a contact name, an email address, an optional phone number, the details of the activity, and any private notes left for the reviewer. A one-way hash of the submitting network address is also stored, purely to slow down automated spam.
Nothing is collected from people who only browse the site. There are no analytics scripts and no advertising trackers. The only outside code any page loads is the web font request, and on the three forms a spam check, both described below.
Prayer requests. The request itself, whatever name or none you chose to sign it with, and an email address if you gave one. The email is optional, is never published, and is never shown to anyone reading the board. It exists so you can ask for the request to be taken down, and so I can reach you if something needs checking. A one-way hash of the submitting network address is stored to slow down automated spam, and a separately hashed record of "I prayed for this" taps, which is only ever used to rate-limit that button. The two hashes use different salts, so they cannot be joined to link a person to a request they read.
Cookies and browser storage
The public pages set no cookies at all. A single cookie exists on the private review page, and it only holds a signed session for whoever moderates submissions.
The submission form does remember your organization's details in your own browser, so a church posting a second time does not retype its name, website, contact, and town. That stays on your device, is never sent anywhere, and there is a link on the form to clear it.
What is published
Activities. If a listing is approved, the activity details go on the public board: the name of the hosting organization, the title, the description, the date and time, the location, the signup link if one was given, and the number of volunteers needed. The contact email, the phone number, and the reviewer notes are never published.
Prayer requests. If a request is approved, the words you wrote and the name you signed it with go on a public page that anyone can read. Nothing else does. Your email address is never published. The prayer board also carries a noindex instruction and is excluded in robots.txt, so search engines are asked not to list it: a hard month should not become a permanent search result.
What it is used for
Contact details are used for one thing: reaching the submitter about their own listing. They are not added to a mailing list, not sold, not shared with other organizations, and not handed to any third party.
How long it is kept
Approved listings stay on the board until the activity has passed, and the record is kept afterward as a simple archive. Prayer requests come off the board thirty days after they are posted, and come down sooner if you ask. The row itself is kept so the same request is not reposted by accident, and it is deleted outright on request. Submissions that are declined are deleted within ninety days. Anything can be deleted sooner on request.
Removing your information
Email chris@j217.org from the address used on the submission and say what you want taken down. Listings come down promptly, and the underlying record is deleted on request.
Third parties
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests and stores the submission database. Fonts are requested from Google Fonts, which means a font request reaches Google's servers when a page loads.
The activity form, the prayer form, and the contact form each carry a spam check called Turnstile, which is also Cloudflare's. It loads a small script on those three pages only, and it is there so that the forms are not filled in by machines. It sets no cookie and does not track anyone across sites. Most people never see it do anything. No other outside service receives anything.
Children
The activity form is meant for adults acting for a church or faith-based organization, and the prayer board is meant for adults. Neither is directed at children, and no information is knowingly collected from them.
Changes
If this note changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.
